
Travis Wong
Travis started with the group as a substitute player for the sax section in 2001 and remained in that role until he was elevated to a regular member of the group in the Spring of 2007. He is
currently in the Reed 4 chair (Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Baritone Sax, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet & Flute) since moving from the Reed 2 chair in the Fall of 2019. He is also the band’s librarian & engraver; positions he has held since their creation in 2012.
Travis is an active member of the live music community in the Eugene/Springfield area playing with multiple groups including: Power of Tower (a Tower of Power cover band based in Eugene), Oregon Alumni Band, The Shedd Institute, and volunteering with local schools. He also has contributed his musical talents to the region as School Services Representative with Beacock Music from 2018-2020, and teaching private saxophone and clarinet lessons. In April of 2022, he was named the next director of the One More Time Marching Band which he will officially take over in January of 2023.
Outside of the music world, you can find Travis working at University of Oregon sports events, the Eugene Emeralds baseball games, various track meets in the area (as the starter), and bartending private parties.
